UDWI REMC members offered card program with benefits

Thursday, June 2, 2011

Prescription discounts are a major benefit of the Co-op Connections Card program offered by Utilities District of Western Indiana REMC to its members.

Members who are uninsured or underinsured can use the card at pharmacies to receive substantial discounts on medications.

Thousands of prescription dollars have been saved by UDWI REMC members already.

Along with prescription discounts, members are also eligible for hundreds of discounts locally and nationwide.

Currently, more than 60 local businesses offer discounts to customers through the program.

Discounts are available on a variety of products and services, including hotel stays, clothing, restaurants, air conditioner services, health and wellness facilities, vehicle maintenance, and more.

The Co-op Connections Card is free to all UDWI REMC members. It does not expire, and no charges or annual fees apply. Any member of the household can use the card.

There is no charge for businesses to participate.

"The Co-op Connections Card is a win-win proposition for both members and businesses," UDWI Manager of Marketing and Customer Relations Jill Gilmore said. "Members are able to obtain discounts on medications and many other items they purchase regularly. Businesses can benefit by increased sales and consumer awareness."
