The event will take place Thursday, June 9, at the Renaissance Banquet Center, 101 W. National Ave., Brazil. It is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., and conclude at 9.
At its monthly meeting Thursday, BMS Vice President Tony Harper said tickets have been selling steadily for the upcoming event.
Harper said he had printed off 250 tickets and as of Thursday, had less than 50 remaining.
"I'd like to get rid of all of them," he said.
Tickets are currently being sold by Main Street members and may be accessed by calling 442-7856 or e-mailing email@example.com.
On Thursday, Harper said four different wine distributors will be at the event and 16-20 different wines would be available.
In addition, Bee Creek Brewery will be on hand.
"This could be something we could do every year and let it grow," Harper said.
He added gift baskets have been donated by a handful of businesses, which have become sponsors of the event, including Ivy Tech Community College, Riddell National Bank, Terre Haute Savings Bank, AirEvac, Kroger, and Edie Richards, CMT, as well as Creative Catering, A+ Printing and The Renaissance Reception and Conference Center.
Signs will be posted at the event acknowledging the sponsors. The group also elected to conduct a silent auction for the gift baskets.
Creative Catering will provide hors d'oeuvres at the event.
"My main thing is to get people together and buy Brazil," Harper said, referring to his hope that city residents would shop locally to help area businesses.
"I think this is going to go off outstanding," BMS President Zac Chambers said.
Meanwhile, the group elected to begin placing flower barrels along National Avenue Monday.
The group is still looking for more sponsors of the barrels. Businesses interested in sponsoring a barrel should contact Richards at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 317-796-6389.
Brazil Main Street meets regularly on the first Thursday of each month at the Brazil Public Library.
Its next scheduled meeting is Thursday, July 7, at 6 p.m.
