Staunton First Christian Church News

Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m., with worship service following at 10:30. Doug Parkey is the minister. If you need transportation to morning worship service, please phone the church office at 446-3211. The bus is wheelchair equipped.

Children's Church and Wee Worship meet at 10:30 a.m., in the Educational Building.

Sunday evening service begins at 6. Wednesday evening Bible Study and Prayer Group meet at 7.

The Elders will meet at 6 p.m., Monday, June 13, followed by a meeting of the church board at 7.

A reminder that the dates for this year's Vacation Bible School are July 10-14.

We were privileged to witness the Baptism of Hannah Nevell last Sunday evening and we welcome her into our church family.

Staunton United Methodist Church News

We are planning a fundraising chicken and noodle dinner, to take place at the Staunton Community Center, from 4-7 p.m., Friday, July 1.

In addition to chicken and noodles, the menu will include mashed potatoes, green beans, applesauce, desserts, along with coffee, iced tea or lemonade. Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children 12-under. Please mark the evening of July 1 on your calendar.

Sunday School is at 9:30 a.m., with church service following at 10:30. Scott Aselage is our Pastor and Glenna Simons is our pianist.

Remember the Community Food Pantry is open in the church's basement from 3-5 p.m., on the last Wednesday afternoon of each month. The next Food Pantry day will be Wednesday, June 29. Anyone in the Staunton area in need of help is welcome. We appreciate the support of all the churches, schools, civic organizations, and individuals who help make this needed outreach a success.

Please keep praying for everyone who is battling illness, as well as all the brave men and women of our military and their families.

Also remember in prayer all the folks in nursing homes and hospitals and those who have lost loved ones.

Go out of your way to be kind to someone and pray for everyone.
