The City of Brazil is setting up an e-mail notification system for water-related happenings, such as boil orders.

Due to road repairs at the intersection of Pinckley Street and State Road 59, Pinckley Street, from SR 59 to Edgewood Drive, will be closed Wednesday, June 15.

The Clay Community Schools Board of Trustees tape for the June 9, 2011, meeting will be aired at the following times on the local cable Channel 2:
* Monday, at 9 a.m., and 7 p.m., and
* Wednesday, June 15, at 9 a.m., and 7 p.m.
The Brazil Public Library will host a video presentation on the history of the American Flag Tuesday.
The presentation will be provided by the Knights of Columbus, who will be distributing hand held flags to those in attendance.
The presentation is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.

Angel Food orders will take place Tuesday and Thursday, from 4:30-6 p.m., at the Eastside Christian Church.
Pickup day has been scheduled for June 25.
Summer Reading Programs at the Brazil Public Library will feature Kool Smiles Dentistry Wednesday, June 15, at 1:30 p.m.
All programs are free and open to the public.
Parents must have a valid library card.
Children must be potty trained.

Songwriter Jack Shannon will appear at the Brazil Public Library Thursday, June 16, at 6 p.m.
Shannon is an active member of the Nashville Songwriters Association and has performed many times at songwriting events, house concerts and other venues.
He will cover topics such as song structure, developing a great hook, pitching to a publisher, copyrights, creating a demo and many tips to help those attending grow as songwriters.
The program is free and open to the public.

The Lady Volunteers of the Staunton Community Center will conduct a community dinner at the center June 17.
The menu will consist of ham and beans, potatoes, desserts, coffee, tea and lemonade.
The dinner will begin at 4 p.m., and conclude at 7 p.m.
Cost is $7 for adults and $5 for children 10-under.
The Carbon Historical Chapel will host singing duo Jeff Bridgewater and twin sister Julie Maurey Friday, June 17.
A pitch-in dinner has been scheduled for 6 p.m., with entertainment starting at 7 p.m.
Food And The Blues!
Clay County Search and Rescue will host a "BBQ and Blues" fundraiser at the Forest Park Pavilion Saturday, June 18.
The event will begin at 6 p.m., and end at 8, and will feature live music by Dicky James and the Blue Flames.
Cost is $6, which includes a dinner of barbecue, two sides and a drink. Children ages 10-under eat for free.
A free concert begins at 7 p.m. Door prizes and corn hole games will also be set up.
Advance tickets are currently on sale at the following locations in Brazil: Harris Bank, Terre Haute Savings Bank, First Financial Bank East Branch and Highway 40 Furniture.

Democrat Club To Meet
The Clay County Democrats' regular meeting will be Tuesday, June 21, at 7 p.m., at Sisters Antique Coffee Bar.
Terry White, Democrat candidate in Indiana's 8th congressional district, will be at the meeting to speak and answer questions.
Dave Crook, also from District 8, plans to also attend the meeting.
The Democrats are planning a hog roast, which will take place at the Forest Park Pavilion June 25, between 4-7 p.m.
Tickets are $5 and children 12-under will be allowed to eat for free.
Yard Sale To Benefit Habitat For Humanity
Habitat for Humanity of Clay County will host a yard sale from 9 a.m.-noon, June 25, in front of Clover Signs on United States 40.

Bucshon To Speak At Chamber Of Commerce
United States Rep. Larry Bucshon, who represents Indiana's 8th District, will be the featured speaker at the June 28 meeting for the Clay County Chamber of Commerce.
The meeting will take place at St. Vincent Clay Hospital and is scheduled for noon.

Cost for the lunch is $7 for members and $10 for non-members.
