Louise Jones, 74, The Colony, Texas, formerly of Brazil, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2011, at her home with her family by her side after a brief, but courageous, battle with cancer.

She was born June 21, 1936, in Brazil, to Marcus Earl and Almeda Silvers Shoemaker.

She married Ernest Felty, Aug. 4, 1955 in Brazil. She served in the United States Air Force until her honorable discharge.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Ernest Felty, as well as her second husband, Byron Jones, and her brother Don Shoemaker.

She is survived by her seven children Becky Saadallah and husband Barry, Denton, Texas, Kim Carey and husband Steve, Frisco, Texas, Cathy Kerr and her husband Jerry, Walnut Springs, Texas, April Santage and her husband Jay, Shady Shores, Texas, Ernest Felty, Shady Shores, Texas, Austin Felty and his wife Dena, Pine Bluff, N.C., and Rick Felty, The Colony, Texas, and two grandsons Nick Gilbreath and Jack Santage.

Sisters Mary Mercurio, Pat Spurlock and Honey Forscutt, brothers Mark and Scarlett Shoemaker and Lee and Karin Shoemaker and sister-in-law Nina Shoemaker also survive, along with numerous extended family, many friends and her four dogs.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Friday, June 17, 2011, at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home, Lewisville, Texas. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, June 18, 2011, also at the funeral home.

Louise was a generous and giving mother and friend and supported St. Jude Children's Research hospital and the SPCA.
