Local Walmart wins Friendliest Store Award

Friday, June 17, 2011

Seventy-two stores were up for the honor.

But when all was said and done, the Brazil Walmart earned its second award in three months.

On Friday, store manager Brandon Wright informed The Brazil Times the local facility had been named the Friendliest Store Regional Winner.

Wright said cash registers at stores nationwide generate a code for every few customers giving the person an opportunity to take a survey.

After the tallies were calculated, the Brazil store had the highest score in the region, which included stores in Indiana and Illinois.

On June 10, the store learned it had received the honor and a banner was placed inside the store Wednesday.

The banner signifying the Brazil Walmart was named the Friendliest Store Regional Winner recently hangs at the front entrance of the store. Jason Moon Photo. [Order this photo]
Wright said scores are calculated each month. The banner will travel to the store that wins each month.

Where's Robbie? He is the guy that makes the boat float. I know he is on vacation this week, because the lot is full of carts around 11:00. Hardest working guy in the store.

I was just in the other day, and commented to my son...I really enjoy going to our Walmart, and have even skipped closer Walmarts when out in INDY, or Terre Haute...just to come to ours. Yesterday I was in there and the young man in the very front on a knee was the most polite (of many) that I have ever met there.

Love our local Walmart. I hate going to the super ones in TH. They are filled with unhappy associates who are rude and way less than friendly. Sam's Club in TH also has the nicest people. They remind me of a time when the customer was always treated with respect. I hate going to the mall because the sales people there are rude and nasty.

There are some very nice people who work at Brazil Walmart and perhaps a couple that could try & remove the frown from their face. But hey that happens everywhere. Also, we don't know what may be going on in their lives. It also helps if the customer is nice! Congrats Walmart - keep up the good work.
