Let's set an educational goal

Sunday, June 26, 2011

To the Editor:

I would like to have our school board members consider meeting at an early date with our new superintendent, in order to set goals for progressive education in our classrooms.

Then, discuss how we can utilize current buildings for our students, teachers and public working together so as to arrive at higher educational opportunities at each grade level. This would need to include all students.

I believe clarification as to year-round school being accomplished under her leadership is a possibility.

Board member retreats regularly with board members, administrators and public committee members can participate in such meetings to discuss changes in current building utilization, upgrading classroom utilization and installing a higher self-insight in our students. This would elevate education in our current buildings.

This will take time. Time is of the essence!

It would be a worthy target and change our students' confidence in themselves.

All this can help all students set goals for a lifetime. I believe this can be done with minimal cost. Would be a worthy goal and have other corporation's attention and provide more education for our taxpayers' bucks.

Thorough consideration and long range planning can improve education in Clay Community School Corporation. It can be a worthy cause that produces more self-reliant students.

I challenge our new superintendent and assistant superintendent to accept and develop this goal.

Then our school board can know that we made the right choices for our top administration.
