Burt "Grady" Jeffries, 91, Rockville, died at 8:40 a.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at Rockville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Rockville.
He was the retired co-owner, along with his brother, of City Welding in Rockville. He was born Feb. 1, 1920, in Carbon, to the late Frank W. Jeffries and Rowena Pearl Brooks Jeffries.
He was preceded in death by his wife Doris Paddock Jeffries.
He is survived by his brother Raymond Jeffries, Brazil and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He served his country in the United States Army during World War II, where he received the American Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Meritorious Unit Award and WWII Victory Medal. He was a member of Parke Masonic Lodge No. 8. After retirement, he moved to Kentucky and spent most of his time fishing.
Graveside services will be held at later date in Calcutta Cemetery, Carbon. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, June 30, with military honors conducted at 7 p.m., by Parke County Veterans in Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard Street, Rockville.
