While residents still feel a pain at the pump, one gas station has continued to offer its customers a bit of a break on a weekly basis.

The Marathon Station, 368 E. National Ave., Brazil, has offered 10-cent Tuesdays for quite some time. With the increase in gasoline prices nationwide throughout the spring and summer, the station has continued to offer its Tuesday deals.

"We got even busier," station manager Rachel Roy said following the increase in gas prices earlier this year. "It's a madhouse here on Tuesdays."

Customers who purchase gasoline at the station on Tuesdays receive 10 cents off each gallon.

"We're the only (Marathon Station) that still does it," Roy said.

Roy said Marathons started the deals a couple of years ago. However, most Marathon Stations are now privately owned and no longer offer the promotion.

Except for the Brazil station.

"It's a treat back (to the customers) to say thank you," Roy said.

Roy added many Tuesday customers come from other areas just to receive the deal.

"We've got some that come from Terre Haute and Seelyville," she said. "They like it. They appreciate it."

It would really help if Marathon didn't raise their price of gas just to lower it 10 cents where they are still a few cents higher than everyone else.
