He was retired from the R.C. Bottling Company in Terre Haute after many years of service.
He was born Oct. 28, 1929, in Jackson, Miss., to Ralph M. Canada, and Anna R. Tison Canada.
His wife, Daisy Canada, whom he married July 8, 1948, in the Bethesda United Methodist Church in West Terre Haute, preceded him in death March 7, 2006.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law Cathy and Charles VanVactor, Seelyville, and LaDonna and Ben Rowings, Hazelwood, Mo., son Jack Canada II, Louisiana, brother and sister-in-law Bob and Sue Canada, West Terre Haute, grandchildren Jennifer Kemp and husband Jamie, Terre Haute, Logan Rowings, Lauren Corbin and husband Chase, and Laci Rowings, all of Hazelwood, Mo., Jessica Arvelo and fiance Lucas Myers, Beaumont, Texas, and a special grandson, Jason Granstaff, Hazelwood, Mo., great-grandchildren Marcus Phillips, Lucas VanVactor, Dalton Kemp, Daisy Kay Corbin, Lanie Arvelo and Myla Daisy Myers, special family members Janet and Ray Herline, Beaumont, Texas, and several nieces and nephews.
He was a member of the West Terre Haute Masonic Lodge No. 687, and the Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute. He loved being a father and grandfather and spending time with his children, grandchildren and family.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, with Rev. Jim Scarborough officiating. Burial will be in Bethesda Memorial Park.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Friday, with a Masonic Memorial Service at 7 p.m.
