Because the July 4 holiday is on a Monday, the Carbon Town Council board meeting will take place at 6 p.m., today.
Purdue Extension Nutritionist Donna Owens will be present at the Brazil Public Library at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, for the program Healthy Summer Snacks.
Snacks to sample and new recipes will be available at the event. All families are invited, but the library asks those attending to RSVP by July 5.

A Microsoft Word Level I class will be offered at the Linking Education to Adults, Adolescents and Preschoolers (LEAAP) Center, 501 E. Jackson St., Brazil, Friday and July 15.
Cost to attend the course is $139, and a textbook is included.
The class is offered through the Ivy Tech Community College Continuing Education program.

The Reelsville Volunteer Fire Department will conduct its monthly breakfast from 7-11 a.m., Saturday.
A&W Root Beer Restaurant, 12 Main St., Clay City, will sponsor a cruise-in from 4-8 p.m., Saturday.
The Wabash Valley Mustang Club will be on hand for the event.
The event will take place prior to the Clay City Fireworks as part of the annual Clay City 4-H Fair.
A 50-50 drawing will take place to support Clay City Youth League.
An ATC-certified Alcohol Server Training Class has been scheduled to take place at the Brazil Elks Lodge No. 762, Wednesday, July 13, from 7-9 p.m.
Cost for the class is $25 per person and is required by Indiana State Law that all permit holders attend and complete the course.
Permits are not valid without the certification of completion of this training course.

'Cruising With Kroger'
"Cruising With Kroger," classic car and truck show will take place in the Kroger parking lot, Brazil, July 16, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
All proceeds will go to Habitat for Humanity of Clay County.
Those wishing to enter a vehicle may do so for free. Donations will be accepted.
Food and drinks will be available.
There will be door prizes and a 50-50 drawing will take place.

Ice Cream Social
The Dick Johnson Volunteer Fire Department will conduct an Ice Cream Social from 4-8 p.m., Saturday, July 16. The event will take place at the Dick Johnson Community House, located on the corner of County Road 1200 North and County Road 200 West.
Alpha Omega Chapter of Delta Theta Tau Sorority has scheduled its birthday dinner for Tuesday, July 19, at 6:30 p.m., at the Lake House Restaurant in Staunton.
