GREENCASTLE -- The Putnam County Airport Appreciation Days (PCAAD) Group recently announced raffle tickets will go on sale to help raise funds for the Putnam County Airport's annual Appreciation Days event.
The raffle tickets cost $5 each or three for $10. This year's event will be expanded, with more activities planned for the whole family.
There are a limited number of tickets available. Five-hundred tickets will be offered for sale and once the 500 tickets have been sold, there will be no more.
Tickets will go on sale starting today. The tickets will be available at Curves, Dixie Chopper Business Center, Humphrey's Outdoor Power Equipment, Wabash Capital and Treasurers on the Square. The winning ticket will be drawn during intermission of this year's Radio Show on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011. The winner does not need to be present.
The winner will receive two hours of ground school, followed by one hour of flight instruction with a certified flight instructor (CFI).
The prize will also include the rental of the plane and fuel. The prize is being underwritten by Dixie Chopper Air, LLC.
No prior flight experience is needed. However, it should be noted that the prize can be used by those pilots needing to check ride formally referred to as a biennial flight review (BFR).
