Rex Arthur Staley, 55, Seelyville, passed away July 15, at Union Hospital, Terre Haute.

Rex was born Aug. 1, 1955, in Terre Haute, the son of Rex and Gladys (Gardner) Staley.

Rex was a member of the Seelyville Conservation Club and the Riley American Legion Post No. 328.

Rex enjoyed fishing and target shooting with his son, Sean. His last fishing trip was Sunday, July 10.

That evening, he suffered a massive stroke.

Rex graduated from Terre Haute North High School, class of 1973.

He was a medic in the Navy serving during the Vietnam era.

When he was discharged from the service, he completed his LPN training at Ivy Tech and worked in several area nursing homes.

Rex was currently employed at the Exceptional Living Center in Brazil.

Rex was preceded in death by his parents.

Rex is survived by his son and best friend, Sean Staley, Seelyville, sister Cheryl Wells and husband Dan, brother Dave Staley and wife Melodie, and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be Tuesday, at Moore Funeral Home, 142 N. Washington St., Brazil, at 7 p.m., with Rev. Chris Gregg officiating.

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m., until time of service.
