INDIANAPOLIS -- USDA's Indiana Farm Service Agency (FSA) Executive Director Julia A. Wickard recently issued a reminder to producers that Aug. 1, is the final day FSA county offices may accept and approve Direct and Counter-cyclical Program (DCP) and Average Crop Revenue Election Program (ACRE) contracts for crop year 2011.
"It is critical for producers to complete the enrollment process as soon as possible," Wickard said.
"While most farm owners and operators have already enrolled their farms for 2011, several farms in each county have not been enrolled. We do not want our Hoosier farmers to miss this important deadline.
All signatures of producers receiving a share in DCP/ACRE payments are required by the Aug. 1, deadline for the farm to eligible to receive 2011 program benefits.
It is important producers contact their local office to set up appointments well before the deadline.
