"I would say decades," Davis said. "When I came here in 1996, it was well-established."
The event took place Thursday. It was moved from the Hospitality Barn to the Exhibit Hall due to excessive heat.
The guest speaker for the event was Annette Trotter, from Turner Travel of Terre Haute.
In addition, open class champions and others were announced. As well, Ball/Kerr awards were handed out to Donna English (fruits), Janice Burger and Brenda Shidler (vegetables), Shidler and Jackie Kyle (pickles) and English and Barbara Ripple (soft spreads).
"I think they're trying to help people that work hard for the community and have fun," Davis said.
"This is a positive influence in the community."
