A special "thank you" to all who attended and helped with Vacation Bible School, and for everyone's generous donations of food items to the Community Food Pantry.

Staunton United Methodist Church

Today, we will have our one-day Vacation Bible School.

Children will attend from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., then we will welcome their families for games, singing, pictures and refreshments from 3-5 p.m. We are hoping that this format will get everyone involved in a family activity that can be enjoyed by all.

Thanks to everyone who helped make last Sunday's church service at the Clay County Fairgrounds a wonderful event.

Happy birthday to my great-grandson Matt Aselage, who will be 17 July 25, and to my great-nephews Peyton and Preston Griffon, who will celebrate their 11th birthdays, also on July 25.

Remember that the Community Food Pantry is open in the church's basement from 3-5 p.m., on the last Wednesday afternoon of each month. The next Food Pantry day will be Wednesday, July 27. Anyone in the Staunton area in need of help is welcome. We appreciate the support of all the churches, schools, civic organizations and individuals who help make this needed outreach a success.

We especially want to send a giant "thank you" to everyone who participated in Staunton Christian Church's Vacation Bible School. They collected and donated 22 full or partial boxes of food items! Everyone involved in the Food Pantry is very grateful for this great display of generosity.

Please keep praying for everyone who is battling illness as well as all the brave men and women of our military and their families. Also remember in prayer all the folks in nursing homes and hospitals and those who have lost loved ones. Go out of your way to be kind to someone and pray for everyone.
