He was born Dec. 7, 1921, in Vigo County, and went to Florida 26 years ago from Bramford, Conn.
He was a retired production manager for International Instruments of Orange County. He was a submariner during World War II and sailed the SS Pollack as a motorman.
He was also a service connected disabled veteran.
He was a lifetime member of the Submarine Veterans of World War II and the Founder of V.F.W. Post No. 0209, lifetime member of DAV Post No. 67, and a member of St. Frances Calrini Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Hertert and Wealthy Pearl (Gibbons) Meneely, his wife Marie (Thompson) Meneely, his brothers Robert, Wayne, Roy, Everett and Fred Meneely, and sisters Henrietta Harrison and Bernice Sprouse.
He is survived by his son William R. Meneely, Spring Hill, Fla.
Services will be conducted July 26, 2011, at Calrini Church, Spring Hill, Fla.
