Members of the Terre Haute Bricklayers Local 4 were in Brazil Thursday laying the foundation for the new Habitat for Humanity of Clay County home.

Representative Vern Tincher said the bricklayers were volunteering their time.

A total of four apprentices, four bricklayer journeymen and one instructor took part.

The workers set the foundation for the home 40-inches high (five blocks total). Tincher said the home would have a rather large crawlspace.

The workers arrived at the site, located on East Ridge Street, at approximately 7 a.m., and expected to have completed the job by afternoon.
