We will be hosting a "Back-To-School Bingo" event on Sunday, Aug. 14, at 6 p.m. Everyone in the Staunton area is invited to play Bingo for school supply prizes. We are stocking up, with the Clay Community Schools required supply lists as our guides, and hoping to help families who may be struggling to buy everything.

There is no charge and there will be free snacks and door prizes as well as the prizes for winning Bingo games.

Happy birthday to my great-niece Julie Dawson on July 31, and to my son, Kenneth Mitchell, on Aug. 1.

Caroline Dierdorf was the guest speaker of Mary Schepper recently, and they attended the Dierdorf family reunion.

Remember that the Community Food Pantry is open in the church's basement from 3-5 p.m., on the last Wednesday afternoon of each month.

The next Food Pantry day will be Wednesday, Aug. 31.

Anyone in the Staunton area in need of help is welcome. We appreciate the support of all the churches, schools, civic organizations and individuals who help make this needed outreach a success.

We again want to thank everyone who participated in Staunton Christian Church's Vacation Bible School for their great donation of food items to the Pantry.

Please keep praying for everyone who is battling illness, as well as all the brave men and women of our military and their families.

Also remember in prayer all the folks in nursing homes and hospitals and those who have lost loved ones. Go out of your way to be kind to someone and pray for everyone.
