Elaine worked as a Registered Nurse at University of New Mexico Hospital in the Outpatient Treatment Center for five years. Elaine accomplished many things in her short life. She earned a B.A. degree in psychology from Wesley College, Dover, Dele, where her father was president. She was proudly pinned as an RN at Santa Fe Community College, when she received her Associate Diploma in Nursing, December 2004. Her first two years as an RN, she worked at Presbyterian Hospital.
Born June 28, 1972, in Trenton, N.J., Elaine brightened this world with her singing, her beautiful smile, her contagious laugh and great sense of humor. She had a deep compassion for people and made her career in caring for others.
Elaine was also an avid animal lover and adored her rescued fur babies: Her past and present dogs Marley, Zoey, Bailey and Chaco as well as her kitties, Mittens, Blue and Luna.
Having lived in eight states, traveling to many others and to Europe twice, Elaine bonded with New Mexico and its people. And she loved those she called family and took care of at the UNMH clinic.
Elaine's immediate family lives in Coldwater, Mich.; her mother, Beverly Stewart-Rehm and husband, Mike Rehm, her brother Reed M. Stewart and wife Kristie, and her young and beloved nephew Lucas, and niece Alexandria.
