The Clay County Redevelopment Commission has moved its monthly meeting for August.
Normally, the commission meets on the third Wednesday of each month.
However, the August meeting has been moved to 6:30 p.m., Aug. 31, in the Clay County Courthouse Commissioner's Courtroom.
Hope Reins is inviting the community to join for a horse training demonstration by Wild Horse Ministries, Tuesday, Aug. 9, at 6 p.m., at the Clay County 4-H Fairgrounds Horse Arena.

Battle of Barbecue
The Boone County Cancer Society is inviting all for an evening of food, live music and fun for children.
The Battle of the Barbecue will take place at Lebanon Memorial Park Aug. 13, 2011, from 5-7 p.m.
It is open to the public.
Those attending will be able to sample barbecue, side dishes, desserts and drinks for $10 per person.
All proceeds will go to the Boone County Cancer Society.

The Reelsville Volunteer Fire Department will conduct its monthly breakfast from 7-11 a.m., Saturday.
All are invited to a community dinner at the Staunton Community Center.
The event will take place Friday, Aug. 19, from 4-7 p.m., or until food runs out.
Chicken and noodles will be served by the Staunton Community Center Lady Volunteers.
Other items on the menu will include mashed potatoes, green beans, salad and dessert.
Cost is $8 for adults. Children 10-under will be admitted for $5.
The Northview High School Band Boosters will sponsor a fundraiser for the Marching Knights Saturday, Aug. 20.
The event is an all-you-can-eat (and catch) pancake breakfast, known nationally as "Chris Cakes."
Tickets may be purchased in advance beginning Aug. 1, at the band office or by calling 812-230-8262 or 812-240-1472.
Advance tickets cost $7.50. Tickets at the door cost $8. Children 2-under will be admitted free.
The annual Bee Ridge Church Ice Cream Social will take place from 4-7 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 20.
Along with homemade ice cream, hot dogs, barbecue sandwiches, chips, pies and cakes will be available for purchase.
There will be musical entertainment, children's games, door prizes and fellowship available as well.
The Common Council of the City of Brazil will conduct a special meeting Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 7 p.m.
The 2012 budget will be discussed.

The Aug. 28 dinner will feature beef and noodles.
Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 10-under.
