To the Editor:
I would like to thank the Van Buren Fire Department for their help and assistance with my mom.
When time was of the essence, they were there within minutes.
They stayed in contact with the ambulance to give vitals and directions to the house when it was lost. Even using their personal cell phones when their radios were not getting through.
After finding out the ambulance was 45 minutes away, they were always thinking of faster ways that we could move her.
They were not just content on sitting around and waiting for other help to come.
These men had just come from a serious accident on (State Road) 59, but gave us the time and attention we needed.
They even called her at the hospital concerned about her because the ambulance didn't get her to the hospital within the "hour window."
Again, thank you so much for your time and extra concern.
I only wish I could say the same for the ambulance service.
