According to BCPD Chief Larry Pierce, officials with the Clay County Sheriff's Department went to a residence on State Road 59 just outside city limits late Monday to serve an arrest warrant for Ethan Young, 19, Brazil. Police believe Young is allegedly one of three men involved in the incident.
Young was taken into custody without incident and questioned about the break-in.
According to officials, he has been preliminarily charged with Burglary (a Class B felony), Aggravated Battery (a Class B felony) and Residential Entry (a Class D felony).
Young remains in custody at the Clay County Justice Center (CCJC) on a $25,000 bond, no 10 percent allowed.
According to officials, at approximately 4:33 a.m., Aug. 4, dispatchers received a 911 call from a resident in West Central Village.
The male resident said three white males allegedly broke into his back door and held a "chrome gun" to his head before beating him with a ball bat.
The victim identified two of the suspects and said the third suspect was wearing a mask.
Officials stated the suspects fled the scene before police arrived.
After a search of the area, BCPD Officer Jeff Stinson located one of the suspects, Derek Snapp, 25, Brazil, who was immediately taken into custody and transported to the CCJC.
Snapp was preliminarily charged with Burglary, Aggravated Battery and Residential Entry.
Officials said the third suspect, Ricky Anello, 20, Brazil, remains at-large and should be considered armed and dangerous.
