Editor's Note: The following is a list of school supplies students will need at Staunton Elementary, Annunciation, Forest Park Elementary, North Clay Middle School, Northview High School and Clay City Jr./Sr. High School.

* All pre-school, kindergarten and new students to Clay Community Schools should bring a copy of their completed immunization record to school when enrolling.

Staunton Elementary School

* Supplies should be labeled with student's name and students should have their supplies on the first day of school.

* Registration times for new students will be as follows for all elementary schools:

* Wednesday, Aug. 109 a.m.-2 p.m.
* Thursday, Aug. 119 a.m. - 2 p.m.
* Friday, Aug. 129 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Forest Park Elementary

Forest Park Elementary will be conducting registration from 6:30- 8 p.m. only on Thursday, Aug. 11 in conjunction with providing back packs with school supplies for students. Forest Park will conduct a kindergarten open house on Wednesday, Aug. 10 from 6:30-8 p.m., at which time parents and kindergarten students will meet kindergarten teachers and receive supplies.

Clay City Jr./Sr. High School

Class schedules and other back-to-school information for students in grades 7-12 can be picked up in the main office between 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Aug 4-10. Any information not picked up by 4 p.m. on Aug. 10, will be mailed. Textbook rental will be collected once all class assignments are finalized. New students can register in the guidance office. Parents and students with questions can make an appointment with a counselor by calling (812) 939-2154. Counselors will not be available Friday, Aug. 12, as they will be attending an all-day meeting, and on Monday, Aug. 15, during the morning hours because of a faculty staff development day. All students, except seventh-graders, will report to their first period classes Tuesday, Aug. 16. Seventh-graders will report to the auditeria.

North Clay Middle School

Sixth-Grade

* 1 and " zippered binder to keep supplies organized

* They will be sold at the bookstore for $10 on a first-come, first-served basis when school begins, or parents can purchase them at a local store.

Seventh and Eighth-Grades

* 1 notebook

* 1 pen or pencil

* A list with other required supplies will be provided according to which team the student is on.

* New students should contact the office between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to be enrolled. New students should bring a birth certificate, immunization records and academic information from the previous school.

Schedules for seventh and eighth-grade students will be distributed on the first day of school.

Sixth-grade back to school night is Aug. 15, from 6:15-8 p.m. During the informational meeting, sixth grade students will receive schedules and locker information at the time.

Northview High School

New students needing enrolled may call Northview to arrange a scheduling appointment. An open house for incoming freshman will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 10, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium. During the open house, school officials will distribute freshman class schedules. All other student schedules will be distributed during home room Tuesday, Aug. 16.

There will be no class schedule mistake or balance classes as per the policy in the course description booklet. Any student having a schedule mistake needs to make an appointment by calling Northview. All other scheduling questions can be answered after school starts by signing up to see a counselor.

Textbook rental will be collected once all class assignments are finalized.

The policy for backpacks and purses changed beginning with the 2007-2008 school year. Backpacks must be kept in lockers. Purses can be no larger than the average textbook.
