With the beginning of the 2011-12 school year only days away, The Brazil Times scoured the area in search of students.
The hope was to ask them what they did during the summer and if they were looking forward to the start of school, scheduled for Tuesday.
Evan Reed, 7, will be a second-grader this year. He spent a lot of time this summer playing with Legos and also traveled to Tennessee. He is looking forward to the start of school because of gym class and lunch.
Mercedes Setzer, 15, will be a sophomore this year. She traveled to Florida this summer while also taking part in Vacation Bible School and marching band. She's looking forward to seeing her friends and pursuing future goals when school starts.
Jacob Baskin, 8, will be in the second-grade this year. He spent his summer at Boy Scout Camp, Vacation Bible School and also played a lot. He's looking forward to going back to school, period. "I want to go back to school so bad," he said.
Audrey Maesch, 11, will be in the sixth-grade this year. She spent most of the summer swimming and visiting with friends and is looking forward to the school year so she can see her friends.
Reagann Bohannon, 9, will be in the fourth-grade. She swam a lot this summer in addition to attending the YMCA of Clay County Summer Day Camp. She also danced during the summer. Reagann is looking forward to the start of school because she wants to learn more.
Madison Ridge, 9, she spent a lot of her time swimming this summer to help escape the summer heat.
