Betty Boatman, 87, Cloverland, joined Jesus in Heaven Aug. 12, 2011.
She was born Aug. 4, 1924, in Clay County, the 10th of 11 children of George A. and Elva M. (Cobb) Krider.
In 1948, she was married to Russell F. Boatman. They made their home in the Cloverland area.
Betty graduated from Staunton High School in 1942. She had worked for Simplicity Pattern in Terre Haute and retired from Tulip's Inc., in 1987. She and her husband enjoyed traveling around the United States in their motor home.
Betty was a member of Staunton Christian Church. She was a kind and loving person and loved children. All of the nieces and nephews loved aunt Betty.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Russell Boatman, brothers Luther S. Krider (Dorothy), Westerville, Ohio, and Roy G. Krider (Emma), Brazil, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Services for Betty will be at French Funeral Home, Brazil, Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011, at 1 p.m., with Brother Doug Parkey officiating.
Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home, Thursday, from 11 a.m., until time of service.
