Lavina Katheryn Stigler McClay, 92, Tinley Park, Ill., formerly of Poland, Ind., died unexpectedly, Aug. 13, 2011.
She was born Jan. 9, 1919, in Clay County, the daughter of David Stigler and Anna Tressel Stigler. She was raised in the Poland area on the family farm.
She has been the devoted wife to Wilmer McClay for over 67 years and the beloved mother of Mike, Pat, Jim, Steve and Pam.
Grandmother to Kerry, Leah, Ana, James and Emily, one sister Helen Weber Scherb, Terre Haute, many nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Roxie Rentschler, Lynden Stigler, Lester Stigler, and dear son Pat McClay.
Aunt Kathy was the matriarch of the family and will be greatly missed.
Funeral Services will take place Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Poland Chapel with Pastor Steven Bradshaw speaking. Friends may gather for visitation one hour prior to services.
Burial will follow at McCullough-Stigler Cemetery.
