The Northview volleyball team remained unbeaten this season with a dominating win over Rockville at home Monday evening. The Knights hammered the Rox in a 25-12, 25-5, 25-9 decision.
The offense was spread throughout the lineup for the Knights as four different players had five-or-more kills in the victory. Brylie Riddell led the way with 10 and added three blocks and three aces. Both Shelbi Morris and McKenzi Kumpf had eight kills apiece and three digs. Morris had two blocks and Kumpf added one. Hannah Willocks added five kills and two assists. Mikayla Rowan posted three kills and two blocks for Northview.
The attack was facilitated by a 16-assist night from Taylor Hess and 14 from Briana Cook. Hess also had five digs. Audrey Clark had seven digs, Ashlen Buck topped the team eight digs and also had three aces. Alexus Bex added a kill and a dig for Northview.
"I was very proud of our play tonight. We kept our play at our level throughout the match," Northview coach Scott McDonald said. "Our setters really spread the ball around to our hitters and kept them off balance. Our blocking was also strong with eight blocks, with several other touches on their swings. The exciting thing tonight again was our phenomenal student section and fan support. The girls are really feeding off the energy that the crowd is giving them."
Northview's junior varsity team posted a convincing 25-8, 25-9 victory over the Rox.
The Knights get a conference test at home against unbeaten Edgewood on Thursday night beginning at 6 p.m.
