GREENCASTLE -- Area 7 Agency on Aging and Disabled will offer a "Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions" workshop for adults with chronic health conditions or those living with or caring for people with chronic conditions.
The workshop is for those living with arthritis, diabetes, asthma, COPD, emphysema, heart disease, high blood pressure, depression, pain, fatigue or any other ongoing health condition that impacts daily life and emotions.
Workshop sessions will include appropriate medication use, fitness and exercise, relaxation techniques, dealing with negative emotions, managing symptoms, eating well, setting weekly goals and effective problem solving.
"Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions" will give those in attendance confidence and skills to deal with symptoms and emotions while providing a greater sense of control and independence in daily life.
Area 7 staff members Patty Cannoy and Michelle Graham or Gloria Wetnight will co-lead the workshop.
The workshop will take place at Autumn Glen Senior Communities, 98 N. 10th St., Greencastle, on Thursdays, from 9-11:30 a.m., and refreshments will be provided.
The sessions will be Sept. 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29, and Oct. 6.
All participants must attend the first session.
There is no charge to take part, but pre-registration is required by Aug. 30.
All participants will receive a free book and relaxation CD.
