Lois Irene Knust Oglesby died peacefully on Aug. 24, at the age of 90.
She was born on her family farm in Cory, Ind., on Feb. 7, 1921.
She was the fourth child born to Ulysses and Ruth Stevenson Knust.
She married Richard Oglesby on her family farm on Aug. 4, 1945.
Together, they raised three daughters: Carolyn, Barbara and Elaine.
Lois was a former resident of Danville, where she and Richard resided for 42 years.
In addition to being a loving wife and mother, Lois worked at Hendricks Regional Hospital for 20 years, retiring in 1987.
She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, where she was an active member of the UMW, served faithfully as a Sunday School Teacher and participates in numerous Bible Studies.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Renis, Max and Kenny Knust, sisters Muriel Knust and Helen Bedwell, and daughter Barbara.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years Richard Oglesby, Brownsburg, daughters Carolyn (Mark) Phillips, Edgewater, Md., and Elaine Oglesby, Indianapolis, granddaughters Julia (Brandon) Davis, Alexandria, Va., and Amanda Phillips, Washington, D.C., great-grandsons Wyatt and Gresham Davis, Alexandria, Va., brother Jack (Winnie) Knust, Cory, and sister Mary Lou Dietz, Center Point, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends will celebrate Lois' life Saturday, Aug. 27, at the Danville United Methodist Church, 820 W. Mill St., Danville, Ind., at 1 p.m., with calling from 11 a.m., until the service time.
Burial will be in Summit Lawn Cemetery, Brazil.
