I love listening to music. I love playing music.
I'm the guy who still goes out to record stores to buy music. But I have graduated to purchases through Internet venues.
Still, I like having a record (I still call them that) in my hand, reading the lyrics to the songs, reading the credits, seeing the production notes, etc.
For some unknown reason, this is one of my passions.
I enjoy playing music and we have several instruments in the house.
A few years ago, I managed to save up enough money to purchase my first acoustic guitar.
It's a nice guitar to strum on while at the house.
Saturday afternoon, Merry took James David into his playroom for a rompin' good time.
While they were in the playroom, I was in the family room, playing the guitar when I decided to join them.
And I brought the guitar.
I sat down near the two of them and started to strum the strings.
James David was amazed. He had to get into this action.
So he crawled over to the guitar and started to touch it, trying to strum the strings and more.
When he decided he was done with that, he reached over for a drum and started banging on it, trying to jam with his daddy.
Needless to say, we were awestruck. We couldn't believe he was beating on his drum while I was playing the guitar.
It was magical.
I admit, I don't want to be the parent that pushes their child into something they really don't like.
I truly believe if James David doesn't enjoy playing music, I'm not going to be upset.
But for just one moment Saturday, I started to think how amazing it would be if he did love music.
What if he enjoys performing or just listening to music?
That wouldn't be so bad at all.
