Tri-County Club

The Tri-County Club met on Wednesday, July 13 at the Zion Church in Poland.

The hostesses were Donna Rubeck and Linda Rushton who served a delicious meal, featuring pork tenderloin barbecue.

Fifteen members answered roll call by naming their favorite author.

Devotions were given by Rhonda Tincher.

Our next meeting will be a picnic at Poland Park, with a bakeless bake sale.

The meeting was closed by praying the Lord's Prayer.

Social hour was spent playing bingo with Diana Nees winning cover all.

Jackson Township Better Homes Extension Club

The Jackson Township Better Homes Extension Club held their meeting on July 28 at the Extension office, with president Ruth Haas acting as hostess.

She called the meeting to order with all reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and the Homemaker's Creed.

For devotions, Shirley Koehler read "Live to make a life."

Eight members answered roll call by telling their favorite recreation.

Barbara Powell led in singing "God Bless America," and "Happy Birthday" to Shirley.

The secretary's and treasurer's report were read by Glenna Ogborn and approved.

Shirley read the health and safety report, "If you can read this, raise your hand." Norma Diel's citizenship report covered voting.

Reservations for the fall district meeting, on Aug. 30, at the Vermillion County Fairgrounds were made.

Members selected the lessons they would like to present this year. The program books were filled out. Sign-up sheet for the "Stepping Stone" lesson was passed around.

Shirley read "Farm Subsistency Program." Barbara read "Things don't have to always be perfect all the time."

The closing prayer was recited. Other members present were Lauralee Hawkins, Rose Mary Price and Ann Stigler.

The next meeting will be Aug. 25, at 1 p.m. at the home of Bobbi Cayton.

Washington Township Circle Club

The Washington Township Circle Club met on Aug. 1, at 1 p.m., at Judy England's home. The Pledge of Allegiance and the Homemaker's Creed were repeated in unison.

Linda Schiele gave devotions "My Attorney."

Four members answered roll call naming an unusual visitor you had.

We sang, "Bicycle built for two."

The secretary and treasurer's reports were given and approved.

Our collections were taken. We paid our "No bake sale" money.

Judy's health and safety lesson was "Vine ripened wonder tomatoes."

Linda's citizenship lesson was about voting.

AG day and candy making lesson is November 1, at 1 p.m.

Three members will attend the Vermillion County Fall District meeting.

Rosalind gave the lesson, "Exploring fruits and vegetables."

We closed with singing the Homemaker's prayer.

Doris Romas was also present. Linda won the door prize.

Delicious refreshments were served and enjoyed.

The next meeting will be Sept. 8, at 1 p.m. at Rosalind's home.

Linda will give the lesson "Credit card rules."
