He had been a patient there for only 21 days.
He was born Jan. 7, 1926, in Vigo County, the son of William R. Brown and Letha A. Christopher Brown.
He graduated from Fontanet High School.
He worked on the family farm and was a lathe operator for J.I. Case until the business closed.
He also drove a school bus for more than 21 years for the Vigo County School Corporation, retiring from that job in 1975.
On April 23, 1949, he was united in marriage to Carol Hazen Brown. She has been the loving wife for 62 years and caretaker for Bob these past eight years so he could remain in their home.
He has been a member of the Otter Creek Christian Church. He, in past years, enjoyed the Antique Tractor Club; played coronet in the Brazil Concert Band, and in the Nevins Township, "Neval Volunteers."
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Imogene Phillips and Audrey Schopmeyer.
Survivors include his wife Carol, Brazil, daughter Karen McCullough and husband Melvin, Reelsville, grandsons Brian McCullough and Adam McCullough, also of Reelsville, and other extended family.
Services will take place Friday, at 1 p.m., at French Funeral Home, with Pastors Lyle Monnett and Steve Brattain officiating.
Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
