CLAY CITY -- The Clay City volleyball team picked up a Southwestern Indiana Athletic Conference win on Tuesday night with a 25-11, 25-12, 25-17 victory over visiting North Central (Farmersburg).
"The girls came out and played well tonight. It wasn't our best performance by any means, but it was a win and we will take it," coach Lu Anne Anderson said. "I thought our communication was better throughout the match, but our intensity level dropped a bit by game three."
Brielle Drelick posted nine kills, an ace and six digs for the Eels with Halli Brewer adding five kills, a block, a dig and four points. Emmie Kittle had 18 assists for Clay City and Callie Dayhuff rang up 15 service points, five aces and 12 digs. On attack, Asie Jeffers added four kills and a block to go with five service points. Meeghan Riggs had two kills and eight digs and five points, Chloe Kittle had eight service points, three aces, an assist, a kill and three digs. Kelsie Fischer had two digs and Claire Miller posted a point and a dig.
The Eels improve to 5-3 overall and 2-1 in the SWIAC and travel to Riverton Parke this evening.
