Staunton United Methodist Church

We will be sponsoring a Chicken and Noodle Dinner on Friday, Sept. 23 at the Staunton Community Center. Serving will be from 4-7 p.m.

In addition to chicken and noodles, the menu will include mashed potatoes, green beans, roll and butter, dessert, and drink. The cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children age 12 and under.

The first of what we hope will be regular Zumba sessions will be held in the church basement next Tuesday Sept. 13 at 5:30 p.m.

Our pastor's wife, Diana Aselage, is a certified Zumba instructor and she will lead the sessions.Everyone is invited to attend, and any donations will go to benefit the church.

Sunday School is at 9:30 with Church Service following at 10:30. Scott Aselage is our Pastor and Glenna Simons is our pianist.

Remember that the Community Food Pantry is open in the church's basement from 3-5 p.m. on the last Wednesday afternoon of each month.

The next Food Pantry day will be Wednesday, Sept. 28.

Anyone in the Staunton area in need of help is welcome.

We appreciate the support of all the churches, schools, civic organizations, and individuals who help make this needed outreach a success.

Staunton First Christian Church

Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m., with worship service following at 10:30. Doug Parkey is the minister.

If you need transportation to morning worship service, please phone the church office at 446-3211; the bus is wheel-chair equipped.

Children's Church and Wee Worship meet at 10:30 in the Educational Building.

There will be no Sunday evening service this week. Wednesday evening Bible Study and Prayer Group is at 7 p.m.

The Elders will meet at 6 p.m. on Monday September 12, followed by the monthly meeting of the church board at 7 p.m.

The Christian Fellowship Club will meet for lunch at Pizza Hut in Brazil on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 11:30 a.m.

The annual church picnic is set for Sunday, Sept. 18 following morning worship service.

Dress casually for church, bring a lawn chair, and plan on staying for food, games, and fellowship.

Meat and drinks will be provided; everyone is asked to bring an additional food item.

Please keep praying for everyone who is battling illness, as well as all the brave men and women of our military and their families.

Also remember in prayer all the folks in nursing homes and hospitals, and those who have lost loved ones.

Go out of your way to be kind to someone, and pray for everyone.
