Mary Louise Phipps, 88, Carbon, died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, at her residence.
She was born Oct. 18, 1922, in Carbon, as the daughter of Ira Wayne and Nora Hillis Reynolds.
She graduated from Van Buren High School.
She was active as a Brownie Scout leader, PTA and Carbon Happy Hours Homemaker Club member, and she participated in the Kitchen Band that entertained the community. She also enjoyed travel. She had attended the Carbon Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Stephen Knox, son-in-law Bob Fields, several aunts and uncles and her beloved pet dog, Sebastian.
She is survived by her husband Ishmael, sister Rose Reynolds, daughters Diane Fields and Stephanie (Wayne) Knox, grandchildren Lynn (Alan) Hughbanks, Troy (Lori) Fields, Amy (Bill) Jordan, and Kristina (Christopher) McVay, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 14, at Moore Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Calcutta Cemetery.
