TERRE HAUTE -- North Clay got wins from both its seventh-grade and eighth-grade volleyball teams on the road at Otter Creek on Tuesday evening.
The North Clay eighth-grade got off to a slow start, losing in game one, but rallied to pick up a 20-25, 25-9, 15-11 victory over the Otters.
Madison McDonald topped the team with eight kills and added two assists while both Morgan Stearley and Bre Dove added five kills. Stearley also had three assists in the victory as Dove had two aces and four points.
Alyssa Yocom had a team-high nine assists to go with four kills, four points and two aces and Kaylee Cooper had five assists with two points and an ace. Madison Trusty and Zoe Orman each had a kill in the victory. Orman also had five points and two aces.
Alex Swaim posted an ace, Ashley Heck rang up 11 points and five aces with Kaytlin Galloway contributing two points and an ace.
The seventh-grade Knights had a bit of an easier time against Otter Creek, winning 25-10, 25-17 as Kerstie Shaw had four aces, five kills and three assists. Lindsay Lunsford added six aces and three kills with Stacy Payton and Sammie Thomas each serving up three aces. Quinn Albright had an ace and a kill as Payton also had one kill. Allison Herrick had an ace and an assist, Alisha Long had an assist and Kenzie Stearley had a kill.
Both teams are now 7-0 overall and host Sullivan on September 19.
