Clay City junior high cross country splits with North Central

The Clay City junior high cross country teams split their meet against North Central on Thursday night as the girls' team won against an incomplete squad, scoring just 19 points led by Abigail Carrell's overall win in 15:19.

Avalee Jeffers took second-place in 15:45 followed four seconds later by Elizabeth Duckwall. Madelyn Ames took sixth in 18:37 followed by Rendi Crabb in seventh-place with a time of 19:15.

The North Central boys won their meet 25-33 over Clay City despite the Eels placing six runners in the top-10.

Gavin Myers was Clay City's first runner to finish in fourth-place with a time of 14:35 followed by Kyle Wolf in fifth-place in 14:44. Dawson Ames was seventh in 15:03 with Devin Thurmond in eighth-place at 15:41. Carter Myers took ninth in 16:05, Calvin Fry was 10th in 16:14, Dakota Robinson took 11th in 17:38 and Aaron Buell was 12th in 20:15.
