Both bands won their divisions at the Red Pride Invitational, which took place in Plainfield.
In Class D action, Clay City scored a 50.30, while also winning awards for Music, Visual, General Effect, Auxiliary and Percussion.
The Marching Knights also won the Class B title Saturday, scoring a 68.90. New Castle came in second with a 65.90, while Zionsville was third at 63.45. New Palestine placed fourth with a 60.50, followed by Greenfield-Central (59.95) and Bloomington South (56.75).
Northview also captured awards for Music and Visual. Zionsville won General Effect while Greenfield-Central captured Auxiliary and New Palestine won Percussion.
Beech Grove won the Class C title with a score of 61.00, while Avon captured the Class A title with a 79.25.
Both Clay City and Northview will take part in the Avon Meijer Invitational Saturday, Sept. 24.
Class D action begins at 5 p.m., with Tri-Central, followed by Blue River Valley (5:13), the Imperial Regiment (5:26), and Morristown (5:39).
Awards for Class D will follow Class C action.
The Knights will be the final band to take the field in Class B action. Northview will perform at 8:28 p.m.)
Plainfield opens Class B action at 8:02 p.m., followed by Jasper at 8:15.
