CLAY CITY -- After absorbing a loss to county rival Northview earlier in the week, Clay City bounced back for a 25-15, 25-20, 25-17 volleyball win over visiting Rockville on Tuesday evening.
Brielle Drelick had 10 kills to lead the way and added a pair of service aces, nine points and six digs. Meeghan Riggs also had nine points and added six digs as Callie Dayhuff led the Eels with a total of 11 digs.
Halli Brewer also had a big game, ringing up five kills to go with five blocks and freshman Emmie Kittle had 16 assists. Asie Jeffers had five kills, seven points and three digs with three blocks for Clay City, which also got five digs from Chloe Kittle.
Claire Miller had a point, Emmie Kittle had a point with Chloe Kittle also adding a point from the service line. The Eels had a total of 12 aces in the win over the Rox.
"We played good tonight. We were able to serve very aggressively, which helps us with our offense," Clay City coach Lu Anne Anderson said. "We had 20 team kills and nine team blocks. We were able to disrupt Rockville's offensive rhythm. Our serve receive was also good tonight."
The Eels improve to 9-5 overall and travel to Eminence on Thursday night.
