Heading into the third week of the Indiana State School Music Association marching band season, both the Marching Knights and Imperial Regiment continue to receive votes in their respective classes.
Northview ranked fourth this week in Class B with 121 votes. Greenwood received all 10 first-place votes and tallied 150 votes for first, while Goshen was second with 134 votes. Jasper was third with 131 votes.
Coming in fifth was Concord with 114 votes, followed by Floyd Central (92), DeKalb (80), New Castle (73), Munster (71) and Northridge (52).
In Class D action, the Imperial Regiment scored 29 votes, good enough for 13th in the state.
Springs Valley is the top-rated Class D band with 143 votes (five firsts), followed by Forest Park with 142 votes and four firsts. Lewis Cass was third with 132 votes and one first.
Paoli came in fourth with 115 votes, followed by Monrovia (110), Mater Dei (103), Woodlan (93), Bluffton (64), Orleans (58) and Adams Central (56).
Avon is the top-rated Class A band this week with 150 votes. Avon also earned all 10 first-place nods.
In Class C, Western earned all 10 firsts and had 150 votes to rank in the top spot.
Both the Marching Knights and Imperial Regiment will compete in the Avon Meijer Invitational Saturday.
Class D will begin competition at 5 p.m., with Tri-Central, followed by Blue River Valley (5:13), the Imperial Regiment (5:26) and Morristown (5:39).
Awards for Class C and D will be handed out following Edgewood's Class C performance at 7:10 p.m.
Northview will be the final band to take the field in Class B at 8:28 p.m. Plainfield will begin competition at 8:02, followed by Jasper at 8:15.
Awards for Class B and A will be given out following Avon's exhibition performance at 9:20 p.m.
