North Clay's eighth-grade football team improved to 5-1 this season with a 40-14 victory against Edgewood on Wednesday night.
The North Clay starting defense held the Colts scoreless through the first three quarters of play before giving way to the second and third string, which also played effectively.
Tucker Stewart aired it out in the victory, throwing for 225 yards and four touchdowns to go with a 15-yard scoring run. Hunter Regan was his main target with four catches and 125 yards and three TD's with a two-point conversion.
Gavin Johnson caught his third receiving touchdown of the season and Luke Kochvar had a 50-yard scoring run late in the third quarter to cap the Knights' scoring.
On defense, Marcus Duregger had a standout night with 10 solo tackles with Jacob Dean, Liam Jones and Cale McCoy each recording four tackles.
The Knights face their biggest test of the season with a Tuesday home battle against Woodrow Wilson.
