The following is information regarding area reunions as provided to The Brazil Times:

Brazil High School Class of 1948

The Brazil High School class of 1948 will celebrate its 63rd reunion Saturday, at 11 a.m., at the Forest Park Pavilion.

This is a brown bag lunch, not a pitch-in. Those attending are asked to bring their own food and drinks. If not interested in a brown bag lunch, bring a bottle of water and enjoy the fellowship.

No reservations are needed.

It is suggested to bring a lawn chair.

Brazil Class of 1956

The Brazil High School class of 1956 will conduct its 55th reunion Saturday, at 6:30 p.m., at Goodies Galore. For more information, call Marvin Buck at 442-1494.

Thompson Reunion

The Thompson reunion will take place at Thompson's Family Park. There will be a business meeting Saturday, at 6:30 p.m.

The reunion will take place Sept. 25, at 12:30 p.m. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish and Bingo gift.

Tarvin Family Association Reunion

The Tarvin Family Association will conduct its annual reunion in Terre Haute this year in an effort to reach out to cousins in the Wabash Valley area.

The family will gather Sept. 29-30, and Oct. 1, from all around the country. Attendance annually runs from 80-120 family members.

Reunion plans are listed at www.tarvinfamily.org.

Key events include a cemetery excursion Friday, Sept. 30, into Vigo and Clay counties and visits to the Clay County Historical Society and the Clay County Genealogical Society. On Oct. 1, a banquet and gala auction will take place.

Ashboro School Reunion

Former Ashboro students, teachers and friends are invited to the school's annual reunion Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Center Point Family Life Center in Center Point United Methodist Church.

Social time will be from 4:30-6 p.m., with a buffet dinner set for 6. Cost is $18 per person. To reserve seats or for more information, call Donna (Harden) Sullivan at 812-939-2659.

Brazil Class of 1945

Brazil High School Class of 1945 President Kenny Crabb has announced the 66th reunion will take place at 5:30 p.m., Oct. 1, in the Fellowship Hall of Community Missionary Church, 21 W. Pinckley St., Brazil.

Crabb said the 66th reunion is anticipated to be the last one for the class.

Mary Fisher of Goodies Galore will cater and Tony Harper will take a final group picture.

The class turned out three preachers, a fire chief, a chief of police, nurses, a chief of a hospital, a postmaster, a mayor, a professor of a college, a noted pharmacist, a noted pianist and evangelist, a druggist, a manager of a large discount store, and several wartime military personnel, as well as several outstanding mothers and professional women.

The class of 1945 is scattered throughout 17 states and the world.

Van Buren Class of 1961

The Van Buren High School class of 1961 will celebrate its 50th class reunion Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Harmony Community Center.

A social hour will begin at 6 p.m., with a group picture taken before dinner at 7 p.m.

Former teachers are asked to attend as well.

Addresses are needed for Clarice Cooprider, Pam Cole, Sally Williams and Sharon Reffort.

Those attending are asked to bring pictures from the past, sweaters of sports teams, band and more.
