Music Fest to begin Friday

For the second consecutive year, the Popcorn Festival of Clay County will feature the Cornstock Music Fest.

Performances are scheduled to begin Friday, Sept. 30, and conclude Sunday, Oct. 2.

There are a total of eight bands scheduled to perform at Cornstock this year. All performances will take place at the Forest Park Band Shell.

On Friday, local band Big Dead Bird will begin festivities with a show starting at 6 p.m.

In addition, Creedence Clearwater Revival Tribute band Blue Moon Swamp will perform from 8-10 p.m.

Five bands will take the stage Saturday, beginning with the Good Feelings Band at noon.

From 1:30-2:30 p.m., Ida Mae Sheriff will entertain patrons, and from 3-4 p.m., Funk 59 will perform.

Dickey James and the Blue Flames will also perform from 4-6 p.m., and the evening will be capped by a performance from Atom Heart Mother, a Pink Floyd Tribute band, from 8-10 p.m. The show will also include a laser light show.

Cornstock Music Fest will conclude Sunday with a 3-5 p.m., performance from Eagles Tribute band Seven Bridges Road.

There is no cost to attend any of the musical performances.
