Heading into the beginning of the postseason, both the Marching Knights and Imperial Regiment continue to garner respect from writers from Indianamarching.com as both bands received votes in the website's third poll this year.

The Marching Knights, competing in Class B, moved up one spot from last week to third. Northview tallied 121 votes in this week's poll.

Greenwood remained the top band in the Class B poll with 150 votes, including all 10 first-place votes. Coming in second was Goshen with 134 votes.

Following Northview were Concord (122 votes), Jasper (102), Plainfield (87), Floyd Central (84), DeKalb (83), New Castle (80) and Munster (68).

In last week's poll, Jasper ranked third, while Plainfield jumped from receiving 50 votes last week -- for 11th place -- to sixth.

While the Imperial Regiment has yet to crack the top 10 in the website's Class D poll, they continue to receive votes.

This week, Clay City tallied 23 votes, good enough for 14th in the poll.

Forest Park took the lead in the Class D poll this week with 147 votes, including eight first-place nods. Last week, Springs Valley was the top-rated Class D band. However, Springs Valley fell to second in this week's poll with 138 votes.

Coming in third was Lewis Cass with 135 votes, followed by Paoli (118), Monrovia (106), Woodlan (96), Mater Dei (71), Adams Central (69), Orleans (66) and South Spencer (65).

The Imperial Regiment will be one of two Class D bands competing at Plainfield Saturday.

Monrovia will take the field at 11 a.m., followed by Clay City at 11:13.

Awards for Class D will follow Class C competition. North Putnam is the final Class C band scheduled to perform Saturday, at 12:31 p.m.

Competing in Class B, the Marching Knights will be one of three bands at Plainfield Saturday.

Zionsville will begin competition at 1:49 p.m., followed by Northview at 2:02. Plainfield will close out Class B at 2:15 p.m., with awards to follow.

ISSMA bands will have one more week of regular competition Oct. 8, before continuing the postseason at the regional level Oct. 15.

On Oct. 8, the Marching Knights will compete at Center Grove. Clay City will perform at Warren Central and Center Grove.

If both bands move out of district competition, both will travel to Evansville for ISSMA Regional competition.

Semi-state competition is scheduled for Oct. 22, while the ISSMA State Finals will take place Oct. 29, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
