CLINTON -- Northview's junior varsity volleyball team improved to 12-3 last week with a victory over South Vermillion on the road, 25-9, 25-10.
"They played well and have shown much improvement in the last two weeks," coach Greg Mogan said. "There were no service errors in the two games and after a slow start in game one, passing was good. We seem to play as hard as we think necessary sometimes instead of starting with an intensity I would like from point one."
The Knights got great hitting and blocking in the middle from Courtney Maccarone and Carrie Duregger with Emily Pollard and Whitney Halfhill providing big nights on the outside for the Knights. Lanie Latham had four kills in four successful attempts and Gracie Geswein had an outstanding dig that brought both sides' fans to their feet.
"We travel to Avon next Saturday for three tough matches after a conference match this week with Owen Valley," Mogan said. "I am very pleased with this group's progress and I enjoy working with them very much."
