She was born Dec. 28, 1925, in Lodi, N. J., as the daughter of Michael and Mildred Cerbo Torre. She worked in her family owned restaurants, Salerno's in Garfield, N.J., and in Miramar, Fla. She had also worked in Terre Haute, at CBS Records and K-Mart.
During World War II she lied about her age so that she could work in the Wrights Aeronautical Plant in Lodi, N.J. She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Jill and Grace; brothers, Michael, Nicholas, and Charles; and husbands, Louis Salerno and William "Bill" Cassidy.
She is survived by her children, Anthony and Kathleen Salerno, Robert and Debra Salerno, and Albert and Judith Salerno; grandchildren, Denise and William Corley, Natalie and Ron Eaton, Angela and Scott Mahan, Michael and Jaimi Salerno, and Matthew Salerno; great grandchildren, Natasha, Kourtnie, Jaimee, Tristan, Sabastain, Amanda, Cameron, and Brooke; and many nieces and nephews and other extended family.
Her body will be transported to Florida where funeral services are pending. Moore Funeral Home was chosen to provide local services.
