North Clay runners tops field at Craig Park

The North Clay cross country teams tuned up for the conference meet on Saturday by winning a three-team meet at Craig Park on Saturday.

The North Clay boys scored 15 points and was led by Cam Trout's winning time of 11:06 with Gaidj Evans in second position with a time of 12:11 and Christian Herron in third with a time of 12:32. Taelur Evans was in the fifth spot for the Knights in 12:44. The Wildcats were a distant second with 52 points and Owen Valley did not field a complete team.

The girls' team was a winner by 25 points over Owen Valley with the Wildcats in third place. The Knights tallied 20 points as Kourtney Johnson finished first in 13:34 with Izzy Shumaker in third with a time of 13:58. Chelsey Hines was fourth in 14:25 and Macenzie Allen raced to a fifth-place time of 14:39.

The Knights will compete in the Western Indiana Conference Meet at Brown County Saturday morning beginning at 10:30 a.m.
