TERRE HAUTE -- North Clay picked up wins on the road at St. Patricks on Thursday night with the eighth-grade team winning 25-16, 25-11. The victory is the team's 38th straight victory dating back to a perfect 19-0 record that they posted as seventh-graders last year.
Morgan Stearley had five kills to lead the team with Bre Dove adding three, Alyssa Yocom, Madison McDonald and Gabby Horrall all had two and Ashley Heck contributed one kill.
Yocom led the team with five assists in the match with McDonald posting three, Stearley adding one and Kaylee Cooper adding one. On defense, Stearley, Dove, Alex Swaim and Kaytlin Galloway all had one dig.
At the service line, Zoe Orman had seven points and five aces with Dove contributing eight points and two aces. Galloway had five points with two aces, Swaim had four points and Yocom had two aces and three points. Stearley distributed three points from the service line for the Knights and Sydney Joliff had two points.
The sixth-grade team capped a 6-1-1 mark this season with a 25-16, 25-8 victory at St. Pats with Elle Tipton and Sera Little each posting seven points. Devon Krider and Emily Yocom each had five service points with Kennedy Enders adding four. Krislin Lemont had two points for the Knights and Hope Grady, Macy Johnson, Olivia Lundy and Payton Kumpf adding one.
