Mayoral candidate eager to serve community

Friday, October 7, 2011

I am Thomas J. (T.J.) Sneddon, and I am running for mayor of Brazil. For 30 years, I served you as window clerk at the Brazil Post Office. After retirement in 2010, I decided that I would like to continue to work with the citizens of Brazil.

I was elected Brazil Township Trustee in 2010; since then, I have cut administrative costs by 58 percent, thus allocating more funds for Community Assistance. After helping so many who have crucial needs, I believe I can do even more as mayor by bringing jobs to Brazil, so that people can help themselves and this community.

My plan for street repair will improve streets, save money and create local jobs.

A lifelong resident of Brazil, I graduated from Brazil High School in 1973 and attended Indiana State University. I served 13 years in security police in the 181st Tactical Fighter Wing of the Indiana Air National Guard, attaining the position of Flight Chief. I was named Distinguished Honor Graduate from Security Police Technical Training School and received the State of Indiana Commendation Medal.

I am a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Brazil Rotary, Farm Bureau, Community Theatre, Brazil Concert Band, Jackson Township Band, Main Street Brazil, and I have worked with the Popcorn Festival Committee.

I look forward to serving the people of Brazil with accountability and transparency.

I appreciate and need your vote and support.
